Mario Sandoval
Mario Sandoval (Madrid, 1977) is the heart and tension of THE SUMMIT. At 49, he holds two Michelin stars as chef of Coque, runs several culinary businesses, collaborates with the CSIC as researcher and communicator, publishes regularly in international scientific journals, participates in gastronomic congresses and social events, and has written eight books on scientific gastronomy, fermentation and culinary technique.
Yet such accumulation of success has not translated into full enjoyment and contentment. Mario is a man of many layers: chef, entrepreneur, science-linked consultant, devoted husband, father of four, nexus of friends, art lover, stubborn student and entrepreneur, brother to three business partners and heir to a saga that began very humbly.
The series reaches him at the moment when all these identities collide. This is not a flattering portrait. It is the record of an existential crisis disguised as professional success.
